  • Paradox of something

As I live and breathe Neil Young! This may not be his best work but his mediocre work is more legendary than anything Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes could come up with!

Watched the movie the other night and it is not very good, to put it kindly. However, I found this music, especially the fully realized songs, eventhough mostly retreads, to be wierdly good compared to his last several albums. This is the first time that I felt like POTR is not holding the man up and covering for him, instead we have Neil at his refreshingly quirky best. Great 'Cowgirl Jam'.

Yet another self-indulgent waste of time from Neil Young. He's put out a mountain of great records; he's also put out a much larger mountain of garbage.

there is no reason for this to be. It is like a rambling of random soundbytes. There is no artistic value to this. This is no "Musical Collage" as someone stated. This is merely throwing stuff randomly at the wall to see what sticks.

I’ll always love Neil, and now Promise of the Real. This is like a musical collage of truly great music, and I’ve always loved collages and great music too! Worth it if only for ‘Cowgirl Jam’ and ‘Angels Flying too Close to the Ground’ (the Most Beautiful song ever written), but the whole album’s fantastically beautiful. Love the mood too.
