Reviews

  • A bit too pop for my taste

I am a diehard Priest fan since I first saw the video for Headin’ Out to the Highway on HBO back when you used to have to have one of those goofy looking antennas on your roof. Of their albums with Halford, this one is my least favorite. I think this is more a sign of the times than anything. Giving it 2 stars because there are a couple of songs I like and their concert in support of the album was good. But compared to their earlier stuff this one just doesn’t do it for me. Fortunately they righted the ship after this.

This is pop metal of the 80's and horrible at best.

Anyone who says this isn’t a good album is a buffoon. Yes, Priest pulled in the synths for this one... it was them changing with the times. Every band out there was staying relevant. Regardless, some of my favorites JP songs are on this album.

This album divides Priest fans. Many freak out at their use of synths and drum machines. Sure, that dates it as an 80’s album. But listen with an open mind, and IT’S GREAT! It sure beats the Ripper Owens-era albums. I give Priest mad props for taking chances and not rehashing STAINED CLASS over and over.
  • not a good album

If Unleashed in the East, Screaming For Vengence, British Steal and Defenders of the Faith were 10's, This was a 2. I saw them on this tour and on two previous tours. They were trying to be a glam rock band that year. Even wore ridiculous poofed up outfits and hair. Not their best work.

I'm the 1st to write a review on a band that's been going STRONG for OVER THIRTY Years? I consider that an honor. From hit songs from, "Breaking the Law" to MY personal favorite, "You've Got Another Thing Comin", anyone who's a fan of ROCK, has got to get this ALBUM. Click yes if you agree!!!!!
