This is a mix between Painkiller (solos) and Firepower (production). What does that make? A masterpiece metal album, with masterpieces like Judas Rising and Hellrider. Also Lochness is the most criminally underrated song in metal. Just buy it already.

I remember how huge this was when this came out, the true Priest was back and the rock community rejoiced! Priest did it with true style, coming out with an album that could stand equally with their classics, which of course not many can do *ahem looking at you Def Leppard and AC/DC. But this album proved that after a 15 year absence Rob Halford vocally was still at the top of his game as was the rest of the band musically and lyrically. Songs like Judas Rising, Deal with the Devil, Revolution, & Lochness touched on multiple different eras of the band and as such basically reinvented a band that had long since been thought down for the count. Fantastic album!

Not that the Ripper years were bad (in my opinion), but once that opening scream blares over that classic Priest lick in "Judas Rising", you know that this is real metal, real Judas Priest, such that wasn't heard since Painkiller. And, aside from being a great metal album and a worthy addition to the catalog, this really shows some songwriting maturity, in songs like "Angel" and "Worth Fighting For", while metal diehards will really go for the aforementioned opener, "Revolution", the speedy "Demonizer", and "Hellrider". This is how every comeback should be; fearless, powerful, memorable, and above all, true to the core sound of the band. Do not miss this one
