Absolutely awful. This may be one of the worst albums of all time. It is Spinal Tap worthy. As a Priest fan for almost 40 years this album is by far their low point. There are no good songs. Every song attempts to be an epic but fails miserably. The lyrics are pure cheese and the album goes nowhere but takes an 1 hour and 40 minutes to do it.
  • Interesting progression, boring album

I got super excited when this came out, awesome new Priest!! But not going to lie, listened to it once, then never again. I could & can appreciate this for it's creativity, its progression...Priest just like any band like to try new things. So as a fan it's worth a listen, but overall it just wasn't a good album. Angel of Retribution was a fantastic return for Priests so it was really disappointing this was a follow up. Perhaps they should have released one part first than the other later. I mean this was definitely no The Wall or any other well known double album, it's just boring

The song "Nostradamus" is pretty sweet actually. It's a shame that pretty much every other song on this album is so very very weaksauce, though. Save yourself the time and money and skip to Nostradamus, and leave all the overblown pseudo-prog nonsense to rot. Or better yet, go buy Screaming for Vengeance, Defenders of the Faith, British Steel, Painkiller, or pretty much any other Judas Priest album! (except Jugulator or Demolition)

But Prophecy IS the most Kickass Priest song released in years…. If the rest of the album is as good then you got areal winner here. However with that being said, I am not nor have I ever been a fan of “song introduction pieces” and that includes “Hellion” from Vengeance…That sort of thing would throw me off….Like one reviewer stated, “I like my metal to get to the point.” My four stars is reflective of the one song.
  • Not Good!!!!!!

This album just doesn't do it for me, sorry guys. I still love me some of the old Priest though, but this album in my opinion just isn't any good.
  • Not bad, but I think this should be the only concept album...

This album is somewhat decent for what it's supposed to be: a concept album. The problem I have is not even to do with the lyrics or the theme or anything of that nature; it's the pacing. Simply put, things really start to drag after about half an hour, and by the time I had finished listening to the album the first time, I had found myself trying to remember what I had listened to. Many tracks end up being forgettable simply because they dont have any real cohesiveness to them for the most part due to one thing: Ambient sound. Ambient sound is what kills my enjoyment of this album. The album has several tracks with what feels like up to two minutes of ambiance before any of the actual song you want to hear begins. This would be fine if the album didn't have twenty three three tracks, but it does, and the ambience ends up being at least a quarter of the running time. Don't get me wrong, it's not terrible, or even really bad... but it doesn't feel like Priest. As a true fan, I have to say what I feel and I don't feel it's up to par with Angel of Retribution or any of the Halford Era material prior to that. AoR was a strong comeback album (even the longest track on there, lochness, was pretty good), but I feel that at this point they could out do it easily with new blood possibly injecting some inspiration into the formula.

I've been a life long Priest fan and have to say this album is rather an embarrassment. I understand it's a concept piece but what an adolescent concept it is! Honestly, my 11 year old could come up with better titles and lyrics...and a less sophomoric concept! The whole thing is full of immature cliches which I could pardon or chalk up to my own growing up out of this band but the music itself is equally as bad. Worn out musical cliches and just a silly overblown sound. RIP JP.

I have been a long time fan of priest, and i gotta hand it to priest.. every album theyve released is different, in a metal style. from the balls to the wall metal of Painkiller, to the dance rock of Turbo, to the radio friendly british steel. priest have never been afraid to experiment with their sound. they take risks. Nostradamus is no different. its a concept album as most priest fans know, and the production is beautiful, you can hear every instrument crystal clear. but.. its very long, 2 discs. it can get boring, and long winded. If you are a fan of concept albums this is for you..
