British Steel (Bonus Track Version)

One of the greatest albums in the genre, which helped to further define it, in one of (if not the best) Judas Priest albums. Love the heavy metal crunch sound the guitars have on this album. The is my favorite Priest album. If you like metal and haven’t heard it, now wouldn’t be a bad time to give this a listen.

Just a great metal album.

British Steel isn't my favorite Judas Priest album but I do think it's one of their best and I can easily see why it's other people's favorite. Great simple but powerful and catchy songs and with the addition of drummer Dave Holland, Judas Priest now had their tightest rhythm section. This album and Point Of Entry are the only albums where Ian Hill's bass is audible. My favorite songs are Rapid Fire (love the drumming on this one), the anthem United, Living After Midnight and Steeler. I particularly love the ending of Steeler, with the band jamming over a two chord riff. A perfect ending to the album. What stops me from giving it five stars is the song Don't Have To Be Old To Be Wise, and the fact that I still prefer their early progressive metal albums. And I could really do w/out the bonus track Red White and Blue, which has nothing to do lyrically with the other songs and would have made a better bonus track on Defenders, Turbo or Ram it Down your nostrils.

This is one of the best metal albums. This is on constant rotation in my car.

This album, along with Metallica's 'Master of Puppets", Iron Maiden's 'Number of the Beast" and Pantera's 'Cowboys from Hell', is one of the 4 albums any lover of heavy metal MUST listen to before they die. Call it simple if you like. When this album came out it was the best heavy metal studio record of its time. AC/DC's Back in Black hit near the same time and these two records were awesome at a time there wasn't alot of awesone. Sabbath was in hiatus. Zep was done. This filled a void and was amazing at its time. While Priest is still better in its live albums, this was their peak in the studio.

TheRage: The best Judas Priest song, ever: The opening riff, the solos, and Rob Haford never sounded more menacing than on this song. It also is on one of the truely great heavy metal albums of all time. BUY IT!

This is arguably their Some of their best work. Even some of the more commercially over played tracks (LAMidnight, Breaking the Law) are decent but the real gems are tracks like Steeler, Rapid Fire and the Rage. A must have in your Priest rotation.
