I really, really, really hate remixes. The original is great! Leave it alone!

Listen to it if you're an addict or someday might become one.

Of course, it's a matter of opinion... I personally don't care for these mixes. I purchased the hard copy of this CD a few years back when it was offered exclusively through Cyndi's website. I love the original version of the song "Shine" (from the "Shine" EP released in the US and the "Shine" full length album that was released only in Japan, making it quite hard to come by), but these mixes do absolutely nothing for the song. Even Tracy Young's mixes (I almost always love her mixes) fail to impress. In my opinion, the purpose of a remix is to improve a song; to make it better. These mixes sound like they were rushed and not given much priority by their remixers. The plus to this CD is that it has the non-album track "Higher Plane" as a bonus song. This song is also kind of boring. You may have heard Cyndi perform it in concert when she was touring with Cher for the first US leg of the Farewell Tour. If you want a GOOD club mix of "Shine" check out the Lodge Remix (also known as the Babylon Mix) which is featured on the "Queer As Folk: The Final Season" album.
