  • Jeff Porcaro master painter on Remo drumhead canvas

I would describe Jeff Porcaro's drumming as a beautiful work of art. He uses his sticks and wire brushes like a master artist painting on canvas. Subtle highlights from his cymbals and bolder colors from his drums create a most beautiful masterpiece. All that he does is pleasing to the eyes and ears. It is not showy or flamboyant but kind of more laid back and easygoing. So that is why I especially love to hear his sexy voice and rhythmic drumbeats through my headphones. What he does drives me absolutely crazy. Meow ! I love him.Oh yes . please continue to appear every night in my dreams playing drums on my heartstrings forever and ever. πŸ“±πŸŽΈπŸŽ§β€οΈπŸ˜ˆπŸ’½πŸŽ·πŸ―πŸ“²πŸ’ΏπŸ’œπŸˆπŸŽΌπŸŽ€πŸ“€πŸŽ»πŸŽΊπŸ˜‡πŸ˜‚. Toto has a number of songs and albums that I think are excellent but this one in my book is the best. Even my son who doesn't care for them likes this album!!!
  • Not a disappointment at all

This is one of their hardest rocking albums. Steve Lukather's guitar licks on songs like Gift With The Golden Gun, Turn Back, English Eyes are smoking hot and the musianship by this extremely talented band is commanding as always. The songs may not be as hook laden as their debut or their tremendous followup but this is Toto at the peak of their powers. I rate it as one of their top albums.

I am a big fan of Toto, but this album seemed to lack the attention to forming good songs. As though it was put together quickly. I still enjoy most of the songs here, but this is no masterpiece.

Come on, no way this is better than their debut, Hydra or IV. It is a solid record, songs are not radio friendly. Anything Bobby Kimball sings on is great! The guitars are really good on this album, the songs just aren't as catchy as the other albums. That doesn't make it a bad album, just not as good as the others. Of course after IV, it all went to hell! The song "Stranger in Town" is the exception. The dude they found to replace Bobby (Fergie) really sucked! Is it worth buying? Hell yeah! This record does ROCK!

I'm so glad to see other reviewers here that love this cd. Their best by far I know every song by heart word for word. Those other reviewers broke my heart for the last time! 5/5

Don't believe that LOUSY album review!!! This album ROCKS and it is VERY catchy!!! My personal favorite!!! Luke is absolutely scorching on this outing and the tunes are very catchy! "Gift" and "Goodbye Eleanor" are worth the price of the album alone!
  • I think I could stand this album forever!

I was also a huge fan after Hydra and loved Turn Back. It's a great example of where the band was heading at the time and what was coming up with Four. When Four hit big all us Toto fans were saying, "That's what I've been talking about!!!".
