"Don’t Talk, Dance” creative once again

Chris continues to provide an innovative approach to jazz. I don’t call it smooth jazz; instead it is inventive and interesting jazz. This album once again shows creativity, and for certain tastes, it will keep you listening over and over again.
That's smooth jazz?

I guess, but I prefer to call it a funky, groovy, electronica, dancy confection. Calling it smooth jazz cheapens it for me.

Chris Standring is recording music unlike anything else in the smooth jazz field these days. It is almost always unique and fresh. This recording is no different. While the drum programming is a bit overbearing, if you can get past that there are some very interesting tunes here with outstanding arrangements and licks. Usually I find the obligatory vocal track to be a throwaway tune. Not here. "Ride" may just be the best tune on this recording.

I love the sound that Chris has and has caused me to get more of his music.

I have to agree. The drum tracking IS a little load. But almost ALL of this album is great. Like the way he combines dance/eletronica and jazz in most of the cuts. "Ride" is off-the hook!!! This album is purchased!!

Sorry, the drum mix is so distractingly annoying I couldn't get through it. The extra star is because he's probably a good fellow.
