This to me is by far the best of Chris Standring. 'CS in the Sunshine" is Truly Standring in the Sunshine !!!

An excellent piece of work, in my judgement. I can even practice my swing dancing to it. Caught my wife dancing in the kitchen to it. Nice.
  • A Challenge, A Dare For Chris . . .

I'd buy this CD for "Liquid Soul" only. Thanks to I-Tunes, I didn't have to! For those of you new to this type of music, I can see why you'd rate this CD 5 stars. The other tracks are safe, banal, typical and you can hear them coming and going on contemporary jazz radio stations all day long. The artist stretched the envelope with "Liquid Soul." It has a fresh and cutting edge chill out/lounge vibe that resonates, inviting my auditory canal to ignore all other competing waves. I challenge the artist to delve further on his next CD. I'll definitely set aside room on my I-Tunes "Chillest" or 'Acid Jazz/Lounge" playlists in anxious anticipation.

If this is your first listening to Chris Stranding you need to check out his other albums as well. This album grooves from start to finish with alot of great hooks. I also recommend Norman Brown and Shane Isenberg.

This entire album is about as close to perfection as I've ever heard. Uplifting, uptempo jazz. I'm not sure if you'd call it "smooth jazz," and I don't really care. You can listen to this entire album over and over again. However, if you are looking for the track to spend your first $.99 to make a judgment on Chris's music here, try the title track. The only thing wrong with it is that it should be about 5 minutes longer. Just incredible. Enjoy.
  • smooth funkie jazz...
