Inchanting & Dramatic

This album ranks as my favorite Janis album, though "Coastal America", "Along the Shores of Acadia", Across Two Oceans", and "Flowers in October" hold a close second. Morro Bay is especially enchanting, Cape Ann soothes, Lighthouse Point magestic and moving. I listen to Janis' albums while I write, and they seem to get my creative juices flowing. A must-have for anyone who loves beautiful, moving music.
A Grand Opus

This is my favorite Tim Janis album of the twelve I own. It encapsulates all this composer stands for—soaring themes, lush orchestrations, vast spaces evocative of nature’s grandeur with more than a hint of Irish bravado sprinkled throughout. Along with flowing piano, the flute is a featured actor as well as hauntingly lyrical violin lines dressed up with strings aplenty, piano arpeggios, and tinkling cymbals. Throughout, there is a wistful mood to the pieces that is sure to bring a touch of homesickness to those who live far from loved ones. My only regret is that the pieces are short, none much longer than about three minutes which isn’t enough breadth to develop a symphonic theme with variations offset by changes in mood. Still, highly recommended.
