"The Promise" contains deeper, more subtle harmonies than many of Janis' albumns while still providing a key place his signature flute melodies. Also, the piano reprises are more complex and engaging than many of his other all-piano cds.The music is very romantic and can easily be used for wedding preludes.

While no one will argue that all Tim Janis songs seem to sound alike, this album seems to be his greatest deviation from prior ones while still maintaining his trademark ability to create soundscapes that take you to another place and time where peace, love, and harmony reign. After a hard-days work, this album never loses its power in silencing my mind and throwing me into a positive state of mind.
