  • Great album, but ...

The second bonus cut mentioned in the description, "The Light Goes On Forever," isn't currently included in the download. When it was posted previously, the file was corrupted, so I can see why Apple removed it. But I don't know why iTunes doesn't get a decent copy of the song and include it. (I got a clean copy from Cockburn's label, True North, where, come to think of it, you can buy the album with both bonus cuts included.)
  • The best among his jazz influenced 80's recordings

A lot of Bruce's 80's recordings are so tied to political and world conditions that any angst expressed seems a bit dated. This album has none of that. Solid songs about love and life as vital today as when they were written. Backed by a timelessly tasteful set of musicians. This is Cockburn at his most listenable, most relevant, and absolute best.
  • Bruce's Best Work

Out Bruce's entire catalogue this album is my favorite. Several of the songs depict Toronto Ontario (Bruce's new home at the time of this album) and he does a fantastic job of describing this wonderful Canadian city. On 'Inner City Front' Bruce sheds his folk roots adding a lot of electric guitar as well as experimenting with a little reggae on the track 'Justice,' giving the album a very urban sound. With the Deluxe Edition you get two b-side songs that were not released on the original album which make 'Inner City Front' more appealing. Overall I recommend this album to anyone interesting in experiencing the non-folk side of Bruce Cockburn. Five big stars!
