I found Kate on Pandora, and found myself laughing and smiling and marveling at this girl's voice in "The Old Man," which will always be my favorite. "Daughter of Heaven" made me cry at its somber tune, that lovely ballad. "Bitter Boy" and "Awkward Annie" are my other favorites, but, truly, they're all wonderful.

Kate's voice, lyrics, music, everything is just so beautiful. I really can't say which o' her albums is the best. Something in the way Kate delivers er songs just plucks the strings in my heart. Her songs are sparse but always resonate with me. All time faves of kates would have to be the old man 'cos it's so cute, bloomin heather cos it's beautiful, bonnie house of airlie cos it's sad, little Jack frost cos it touches me personally, and underneath the stars cos it's the first song I learned to sing and fingerpick on the guitar. I just love her.

She's the Girl Who Doesn't Fly so she won't be back in the States anymore, but this songbird's voice carries purely across the Atlantic anyway. I saw her in Seattle and will never forget the experience. Beautiful album!

I'm giving this album a five even though, admittedly, I didn't buy the whole thing. I'm not sure if it's entirely alright but I'm just counting the songs that I did buy. My favorite song is EASILY "Planets." You have to at least buy this song. I also liked "Awkward Annie" which is a fun slightly more upbeat song. "Village Green Preservation Society" is also upbeat and fun. Some of the other songs are a bit too... folksy for me even though I'm a fan of folk music. "Daughter of Heaven" was good albeit not great. Now then, I haven't actually heard the whole songs so they may be better than I think. Oh well, maybe Pop is finally catching up with me.

I've been listening to Kate Rusby's music for about three months and, frankly, I think all the other 3,000 songs on my iPod are jealous of Kate. I could easily recommend ANY of her albums for the uninitiated, but "Awkward Annie" is a beautiful introduction to the poignancy of her lyrics, the beauty of her guitar-playing and the subtle power of this artist. An interview with Kate revealed that "Bitter Boy" is her favorite songs. I would add "Planets" and "Blooming Heather" to the long list of other beautes.

I first heard Kate's music watching Clatterford and hearing the theme song. I absolutely love the sound and emotion of her voice. I am a new fan!

It is worth the price of this collection just to hear Kate Rusby say "Donald Duck" in the opening lines of "The Village Green Preservation Society." And then, after that, you have all this beautiful music, practically for free. All her work is magical, but this could be the most heartfelt, gentle, beautiful music of her career. And Eddi Reader on harmony. Wonderful. At least six songs here could bring one to tears. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

Amazing- what a wonderful treasure never to hit America... an awesome CD from opening track to last... Great bedtime music, I can picture Jenn (or any girl) dancing around to it...
