  • Where's the meat?

I guess if you like a British accent you could find a way to call her voice 'lovely', although it really isn't. She is more of a folk whisperer than a singer, and honestly sounds a little whiney. I'm not picking up what she's laying down.

Kate's music transports me to a wonderful world of original styled folk music. The more I listen the more I appreciate her lovely voice against a minimal use of instrumentation. As a songwriter, I have been searching for an album that could take me back to the roots of Irish/Scottish/Old English storytelling and styling. I am so glad to have discovered Kate Rusby - not only does her music meet my requirements, but the sheer beauty of her music far exceeds my expectations. I will definitely be adding more of her music to my collection. A great find and highly recommended.

Kate's voice quite simply, is just lovely. I first heard her about six years ago, and currently own three of her albums. The Girl Who Couldn't Fly encompasses Kate's vibe; containing some of my most favorite songs (You Belong to Me, The Lark, and Wandering Soul).

I bought "Hourglass" and loved it so much that I had to have more...so I got "The girl who couldn't fly". This is great music by a gifted artist. You will not regret this purchase... I promise.

In the world of Folk there are few greats who compare to Kate. Her voice is angelic. Her music soothes the soul. On this album pay particular attention to: The Lark, Elfin Knight, You Belong to Me, Wandering Soul, and Little Jack Frost. And if this is your first experience with Kate Rusby, be prepared to be swept away to a world of enchantment.
