Reviews

  • A modern classic

I first heard Kate Rusby on the soundtrack for French and Saunders' "Clatterford" and was hooked. Her voice is simple, spellbinding - she's up there with Joan Baez, Nanci Griffith, Eva Cassidy, and Joni Mitchell. Every song on this album is beautiful - highly recommended.
  • An early Kate -- still great.

It takes a little time to enjoy the beauty of one of Kate's first albums. Not as polished as her later works, but this one has a brilliance all its own. The album hosts a haunting collection of sweet gems like "The Wild Goose" and "Sho Heen," which are a beautiful addition to your collection of all things "Kate."

Kate’s award winning album Sleepless is nothing short of spectacular. I first heard the album in a small shop off Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica California and have been enchanted ever since. On Sleepless be sure to try: The Cobbler’s Daughter, Unquiet Grave, and Our Town. They are absolutely fantastic.
