  • I think the muses need a break

I really enjoyed Tori's most recent output - her last two albums were fairly solid and finally broke her out of that "Classical Song Cycle" snooze-fest that was "Night of Hunters". This albums seems like a step backward - it's sonically lush, but her lyrics meander too much, and I don't like the voal production...I know, nit pick , nit pick. Amos is still a force to be reckoned with, and a musical genius, but this album was a bit of a miss for me.

In all honesty, I could never fix myself to critique Tori Amos. Who the eff am I? Instead, I’ll keep this album spinning until I’m dizzy. Thank you Tori🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

So boring. The album cover looks like it's about to sleep too
  • I miss the power

Perhaps it’s simply the passing of time and how a voice ages, but however strong the songwriting is here, I don’t much care for the softly sung vocals of her recent efforts. The power of her voice, the emotiveness of it and how you used to feel exactly what she felt in a growl, a howl or any noticeable increase in pitch is missing anymore. I guess as another said, those days are gone. Oh well. I will always admire you, Tori, even if your art fails to stir me as it once did.
  • Another Dissapointment

Another dissapointing album from Tori Amos. Tori has lost her edge and relevancy years ago and this albums confirms this.
  • Stunning

The lyricism, the musicality, the bare boned skill, and crafted artistry of everyone involved in this album is just absolutely gorgeous. Her best album in my opinion. And that says a lot.

"Speaking With Trees" Is a taste of what I hope is an album full of accompanying musicians. Tori does amazing work no matter the size of her arsenal but Richness of sound was a bit lacking for me the last record. I needed harder drums especially. This sounds promsing.

If you wanna know where half of these artists got their inspiration, including hip hop, it’s right here. She’s part of the inception of the next level, deeper unapologetic sexuality and expression through artistry. Words? Tori showed you. Phrasing? Tori. Grinding because it was visceral, real, not for shock like a Madonna, not choreographed? Tori. Bow. She’s literally royalty amongst this crowd, and should be honored. No one has even touched what Tori has done since she started … not even touched. Innovative beyond. Original beyond. How? She’s the real deal. Where do you even see that? There’s a few. But their obvious. So obvious. Not another on this top iTunes chart. Not another. What are they even doing here in the same chart. It’s embarrassing. Megan thee What? Ha. Ridiculous! Maybe Lana Del Rey. But…
