This is my favorite Satriani album! I listen to it all the time on the internet, BUT I don't want to buy it because it's so dang expensive! 19 songs for twenty bucks DOES NOT WORK FOR ME. I bet you could sell a whole lot more albums if you made em cheaper Joe.

Joe Satriani is one of those guitarists who ANYONE could listen to. He does just about every form of music (do-able on guitar), has mastered and personalized the modes and many techniques. You know what, dont even bother reading any more reviews, buy the whole albumn, if not, get my personal favorites - The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing - Cool #9 (incredible blues version with a stu doin a BASS solo!) - Surfing with the Alien (classic) - and Flying in a Blue Dream
I Promise you will enjoy every song on this albumn, keep it up Satch!

Great CD as others have said. The only things I'll add is the mixing of the tracks give them a "heavier" feel which only accentuates LaRue's incredible bass work (I believe I heard that Satch used strings of a different width for this recording but I could be wrong). It definitely has a different overall sound from his last live album "Live in San Francisco".
Overall a great CD, Satch, as always, is Satch and LaRue compliments him nicely (his bass playing on Circles was awesome in my opinion) with Jeff C and Galen rock solid on the drums and rhythm. As someone who has never played guitar but likes the instrumental rock genre I personally found this CD highly enjoyable.

He can tap on the smallest fret. He can pinch any string on any fret anytime. He can dive-bomb from piccolo to baritone range. Buy it, and be enlightened.

The album is uniformly good, and rises to greatness in many places. I would buy it just for the reinterpretation of Always With Me, Always With You -- one of my favorite Satch songs before this album came out, I was always under the impression that it couldn't be improved. But boy was I wrong! His new version is so much better, with all his typical virtuosity plus something more, something beautiful. I also loved Super Colossal and Ten Words, and of course Cool #9 and Satch Boogie and Circles.
Please buy this album.

I'm what one would call a true metal head. The last time I heard anything soft was when my mother would sing to me as a baby. A friend told me about Satch and I have got to say, Satch blows Mick Thonpson and Kerry King out of the water.
