  • Better but not reaching their potential.

This album is a little better than past albums. But I haven't been much of a fan since they started blending in with all the other mainstream CCM artists. These guys became great because they were the best christian coffee shop band in the world. Their unique blends of acoustic & organic sounds were addicting! They've fused a few songs with that originial raw sound here and there, but it would be nice to hear all their songs played like that again. Acoustic, raw, & original. I wish they'd make an album that was entirely that! I'd love them again if they're music was more of what it was. :)
  • Their best record in a long time.

  • Why so much controversy?

It's a far cry from their debut album which had Flood and Lovesong for A Savior, this is a very good album as it has bits and pieces of their albums through the years. I would have preferred that JoC didn't have so many guest artists on this offering, because that is where I think a lot of the opinions that they're too much like all other Contemporary Christian music these days. For instance We Will Follow sounds so much like Hillsong United! To say this is the worst album you haven't listened to If I Left the Zoo. Is it as good as some of their previous offerings? I would say no, as I think that there are a few I like better, Jars of Clay, Much Afraid, Who We are Instead, The Eleventh Hour and the Long Fall Back to Earth. I still really like this album though.

The title says it all. I won't waste time talking about all its flaws. It would take too long. Yes it's THAT bad.

When this "community" album was announced I wasn't too sure it was something I was interested in. That quickly changed as each song grew on me and I was introduced to several great artists I was unfamiliar with. Give it a listen it is definitely worthy of your time. A+

Yesterday in Bloomington Normal,Illinois Jars Of Clay came to perform at a Corn-Belters game. When I heard them sing, all the pain vanished from me. All the worries about family and school dashed out of my head. What I realized then was that Jars Of Clay impacts me. Their songs make me feel loved, and it leaves a feeling of faith in me. This album is really phenomenal, and when i heard them perform yesterday, my mouth hung open in awe. I realize i really just needed to hear their voice, and soon enough, i felt happy. I definetelly wont miss another chance to hear them in concert again!!

No offense to the band (I know that they just had a flood wreck their studio) but I still have come to expect a lot more from them. Some of the songs could be good worship music, but I still think they could have done a better job like their earlier albums. My favorite one that they have done so far, by the way, is Much Afraid. That is an awesome album!!! They need to do more like that one.

I used to look forward to a new J of C album but they seem to "evolved" and I don't like where they've gone. Their sound is forgettable, redundant, and gets lost with all the other middle-stream groups. Stick to their early work and enjoy the message and spirit in their music and words.
