I absolutely love this album. In my opinion, Jars of Clay has yet to repeat the genius of this album. It's so much more than a Christian album. There are songs about a wide variety of topics. That's what still has me hooked after all these years. I'd definitely have to admit that "Sad Clown" is my favorite.
  • Not their best...

The songs are fine, but not as good as Much Afraid. Still good stuff though. (Goodbye, Goodnight, Unforgetable You, No One Else Loves Me, and Can't Erase It)
  • Criminally unheard of!

Great great album that never gets old... The messages in the songs are great but it also doesn't sacrifice musical value...

Then I must say to let the album speak to you first. If I Left the Zoo is full of stellar and intruiguing moments: well-constructed musical creativity infused with clever literary devices. A joy-ride of ups and downs, taking you through moments of saddness, laughter, joy, exposure, irony and simple praise. I encourage you to spend good time with it, it will take you on a journey through worlds if you let it. *Note: the album description notes this is their fifth album, for clarity's sake, it is not their fifth album but their third (full-length studio album).

This is one of my favorite Jars of Clay albums! This album features a blend of upbeat songs (Unforgetful You) and mellow songs (No one Loves me like You). If you don't want to buy the whole album, I'd recommend buying 'Unforgetful You'
