Really rare when someone with her talent comes around someone where every song it's just so spot on and enjoyable. The voice of an angel but here on earth. Reckless Abandon by Morgan James is Amazing! She is the voice of her generation. Every track tells a story and I'm sure you will find one or two that mean something directly to you. If you've heard Morgan sing, you know her voice is fantastic and reason enough to buy her music. This album has some really great tracks, excellent musicians and unique arrangements that I found enjoyable. Every track is excellent. I'm enjoying this album immensely.

I found her voice to be an intersection of Mahalia Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, Yma Sumac and Teena Marie. The biggest surprise was finding out what she looks like. What???? Candice Bergen meets Bridgette Bardot. This gal doesn't just sing, she channels. I am curious to hear who else she has in that there SOUL...

I've been to several of Ms. James' live shows. I really can't wait to go again to hear these songs live. This material is her best yet!

Album is amazing. Just a plain Ol' Fact.

Morgan James is the finest singer of her generation. In a musical era where the radio waves are mostly populated with robotic sounds, Morgan gives gutsy vocals that you can actually feel. This album takes me to what I imagine listening to music in the 70s was like: unfiltered vocals, yummy horns, and raw emotion - no auto-tune or synthesizers. Morgan has said in interviews that she aims to emulate the sounds of Aretha Franklin, Joni Mitchell, and Mariah Carey all at once. There are some moments on this album (see "Unworthy" and "Ransom") where she very nearly does this. However, what she absolutely does with each track is bring her whole self into the record. You can hear the passion and the love for these songs as she sings them and you can't help but love them too. Don't take my word for it though. Take a listen and hear for yourself.

The voice of Morgan James has the range that so many dream of sounding. It is an awesome blend of words with music and a voice that can be truly called an instrument of emotions. Highly soulful and musically tasteful for you mind, will and emotions (aka) your soul. If you ever watch TV shows like American Idol, The Voice. Morgan James is the measuring instrument to evaluate all the other performers. Morgan James set the bar. Reckless Abandon is all new music.

First she hits you with funk, and I mean stanky FUN-kay FUNK! True to form...then...is it pop dance, is it country, is it jazz, is it R&B/Soul......its all Morgan and its exceptionally well done! And you can honestly say, "pipes to beat the band". This lady pays great tribute to those beofre her, but does it uniquely her way..... perfect!
