Itunes decided to just delete hundreds of reviews bc nobody knows. Besides that, this album is a masterpiece. A legendary album that needs no introduction.

  • Tony Iommi Recalls the Best and Worst of Black Sabbath

“We tried recording ‘Into the Void’ in a couple of different studios because Bill [Ward] just couldn’t get it right. Whenever that happened, he would start believing that he wasn’t capable of playing the song. He’d say, ‘To hell with it—I’m not doing this!’ There was one track like that on every album, and ‘Into the Void’ was the most difficult one on Master of Reality. “The coughing that opens the album is actually me! Ozzy had pulled out a joint, and I nearly choked to death on the bloody thing—and they recorded it! I didn’t have any idea that it would end up on the record.”

This is the album that defined Black Sabbath and doom metal alike. Also laid the foundation for white metal. Thank you Black Sabbath \m/

  • THIS is heavy

Let's put this is context. This album still stands up as one of the heaviest metal albums ever. And it was released in…wait for it.…1971! These blokes invented metal. Period. End of story. NO other band at that time was anywhere near this heavy. Zeppelin? Please. They just played the blues really loud and ripped off every blues song out there. Sabbath morphed the blues into something altogether different and sinister and made it their own. Plus all of their tunes were original. Into The Void? Friggin unreal.

Out of their entire catalogue, this one has always been my favorite. "After Forever" and "Children of the Grave" are big highlights. Add to that they're only charging $5.99? I can't pass this up. Neither should you.
