My music teacher told us to bring in a tape of our favorite music. A girl in my class brought in this album and had the teacher play "Fat Boys." Some kids laughed but to me it was almost life changing - up to that point I had listened to my mothers Air Supply, Billy Joel and Neil Diamond. Living in Elmont, NY I had the pleasure of meeting the Fat Boys at Green Acres Mall. Great band, great music.

What an influence. The Fat Boys truly represented that deep rooted east-coast style of rap that was clean, intense, intelligent, and well presented. Truly one of the original groups to set the groundwork for future rapers. What kid doesn't use beat-box nowadays as a reference to rap? Specifically enjoyed their raw, uncompromising sound. Truly some of the early "super heroes" of rap music...

I'm 18 now in 2012 and I'm one of the few kids in this generations that loves 80's rap, better than Lil Wayne and everyone else who call themselfs 'Rappers' in this gerneration I don't approve of music where they don't know how to rap without disrespecting someone and just sounding plain ole' stupid. I love Shelia E's, Run DMC, and Fat Boys now. honestly this was really my first time listening to Fat Boys as I push to preview I instanly fell in love. Everybody I know says I have an old soul, because I honestly wish I grew in the 80's style of music.
