Like You Do and Golden Country make this album great. Music Man and Being Kind are solid support songs, which is good because the rest of it is okay at best. Still enjoyable over 45 years later.

Do yourself a favor and crank this up! Great Rock and Roll before they started putting out radio friendly hits...

If you had to have one by the band, this is it. Think Aerosmith Get Your Wings or Robin Trower Bridge of Sighs. Three classic albums.

I read the other reviews and agree that this was the best R.E.O. "LP". If you were a rocker like me in the 70's, this recording is a great example of how good the music could be at the time. Anybody that recalls the music during the era will undoubtly enjoy listening to it again, and if you missed it....... well I wish I were you getting to hear it for the first time again. Oh yea, one more thing...... turn it up loud!!

This is the only REO Speedwagon album to buy, I have listened to it on LP, Cassette and CD. These are great songs recorded when they were still hungry for success. Forget the Pop crap from the '80's and the Spinal Tap version of the band that still records and shows up to play at every "Taste of" or "Fest" in every town in the Midwest.

Second album the band produced most of the songs like golden country were written on the bands college campus and Kevin's voice is much stronger sounding here than it is on there later albums with him on lead vocals and much deeper another big hit that is a must have is like you do this is the only album of theirs on iTunes that you can get a studio version of golden country and like you do I'm only a eighteen year old teenager but I love old rock music especially reo speedwagon golden country tells about some of what is going on in today's world it's a must have album to add to your collection of reo speedwagons

A must have for all REO fans. Kevin's voice was much lower in tone and there were not too many effects, except for some subtle reverb on some songs, put on his voice back then. The sound was a classic midwest sound and of course it sounds nothing like the REO of the 80's and 90's, but that is OK. It's good to hear something different. Golden Counrty is truly a masterpiece, especially the beginning of the song. The song still connects with things that are happenning in our world today. One of REO's heaviest songs! A must have for the incredible price!
