Jolie Lives- 18th Nov., 2016 Absolutely, he's got "That One Of A Kind Voice"! Always a pleasure to hear, especially when it's a surprise. I really enjoy listening to JJ Cale and have done so for decades. I agree, his music and lyrics not only age well, he becomes more and more pleasurable to listen to! Though I'd say, his Music is more like enjoying a truly fine Cognac, in a heated glass, sipped after a really superb meal. (Though I thoroughly agree with and enjoyed the comment written by the previous Reviewer. Which said that listening to JJ's Album, was very much like the pleasure derived from imbibing a fine wine!) Even though his sound is immediately recognizable, his Voice and Music continues to evolve, creating a richer complexity. Making his Songs even more diverse and a greater pleasure to listen to. Such a rarity, always winds up putting a bigger smile on my face and this isn't even his most recent Release! If you've never listened to JJ Cale's music before, you are truly depriving yourself of one of the aspects of Life that can actually compel you to get up and dance 💃. More specifically, when it's The Last Thing, You Feel Like Doing!

I have to agree Roll On is a much better album than the Road to Escondido with Clapton. I say buy it! . I'm so glad he's still making good, good music. Keep 'em comin'

Heard a tune from this album on an episode of CSI. Thought, "Damn, sounds like J.J. Cale". Sure enough. Had to get this album and glad I did. Nothing below 4 stars on this album. Guy keeps getting better.

Stumbled across this after shazaming a song off the 12/17/09 episode of CSI. Glad I did because the whole album is great.

Heard this album on a longgg flight from Hong Kong to London. Knocked my socks off. I had forgotten about JJ for 30 odd years. Like finding an old buddy again, he has matured like a great wine, the lyrics and music better tasting than ever.
