Regina Spektor was my first musical love, and is still one of my all-time favorites. I was so glad to find this song, and know she's still on the radar...I haven't heard new songs from her in a while. =[

I'm sooo happy iTunes asked regina to do this song. She's by far one of the best artists out there today, and this song proves it, as she plays a simple yet beautiful piece that sounds like her earlier work. Leave it to Regina to take a time-tested classic tune, apply her other-worldly, yet very, very down to Earth voice to it, and make it something heartfelt and classic all over again. Sure it's a low-energy song, but that doesn't mean it's boring by any means; it simply relies more on her voice to carry the piece than some obnoxious beat. And the gunshots and sirens? Not sure; could be Regina simply making a 'statement' without really saying anything, but it could jsut as well be her quirkiness weaving it's way into a well-known tune :P . She definitely deserves some ReSpekt.

For not being a big Regina Spektor fan, I do like this song, probably because it isn't an original. In fact, I'd say I like it a lot. But I'd never buy it now that's not a free itunes single. I just can't bring myself to buy something that was once free...
