Powerful, thoughtful, and subtly nuanced lyrics. My favorite album ever.
  • One of Regina's Strongest Efforts

Lyrically powerful, each song contains the depth and power that other artists can only cram in an album. Her eclectic work shines and dazzles, all the while keeping its feet on the ground, and its pathos genuine.

I am new to Regina's music. This album is beautiful. I grow to appreciate the songs the more I hear them. I look forward to hearing more of her music.
  • Most Underrated album of 2016!!

This album is a force to be reckon with. This is a much better album then the other singer songwriters whom have been getting much of the attention such as Angel Olsen. Regina, Fiona, and Amos will always be the best piano rockers!

Sometimes before listening to a new album for the first time by a musician I have listened to for a long time I find myself experiencing a brief moment of doubt wondering whether the magic will still be there. With this album within moments I found myself swept away and falling in love with Regina's music all over again.

There are no words to describe the brilliance that this album exudes. I have been a fan of Regina for years, and this album is by far my favorite. The lyrics have a sensitivity to them that rip your heart out in the BEST way. And she reminded me of feelings that I haven't allowed myself to feel in a very long time. Thank you Regina, for waking me up and inspiring me to follow my heart once again.

  • This one shines in a different way

I feel a sadness and an anger that comes through on some of these songs that I've not sensed before, at least not in this way. Her singing voice is actually stronger, more mature, less of her signature "little girl" tone, as though she's digging deeper into herself. While not as playful perhaps, this album is more powerful. I was driving home one night recently and was able to listen straight through most of it, and I was moved in ways that I can't exactly pinpoint. She got me.
  • Always Regina

Tears, almost immediately. And I'm not generally a very emotional person. Regina's genius brings it out of me every time.
  • Like a More Refined Soviet Kitsch

If you liked her earlier Soviet Kitsch timeline recordings, you'll love Remember Us to Life and if you felt that Soviet Kitsch was too bare for your tastes, you may well like this one anyway. It's like a more polished sister recording to Soviet Kitsch. It's more stripped down and elemental and not as poppy as her more recent work, but it features the kind of use of melody that you started to hear after Soviet Kitsch. It sound so very familiar yet so very different at the same time. It's the Bohemian Piano Songstress Regina Spektor after a weekend of trading tips with the Piano Pop Anti-diva Regina Spektor. It's wonderful.
