These reviews are crazy to me! This album for the most part is pretty killer! When I let this album ride in my ipod, I always skip Freshman. This is a solid album with lots of good tracks! Favs are Penny is Poison and Drive you Mild.

I really like them music and actually got to meat there lead singer when he was playing at a friends charity event. Freshman is a really great song and so are are the rest of them.

Photograph is the best song here. It was the first single released and I think shows their strength as a rock band.

I have always loved this album. However, I first heard them in '95/'96 when "the freshmen" sounded different. Anyone know where I can get that original recording!? I loved it so much.

I bought this album when it originally came out. Really just for the song The Freshman, but when I put the cd in my radio, I actually enjoyed each song. The lyrics have a good sense of poetry, and their music sounds really good. I grew up in that time frame. I was in my teens in the ninety's, and it was a different kind of rock then than it is now, and this album brought me right back.

Pawing through some iTunes links of related songs, I tripped across this album. I'd forgotten this band even existed, yet was struck by how well I recalled the lyrics to some of these songs, and the strong emotions accompanying them. I'm admittedly not a fan of the band, but I know what I like and this is a really good album on it's own merit. Freshman is the "hook" song, but there are some real gems if you give it a few listens to let it grow on you. Veneer is the perfect end, and also my favorite- liquid lyrics and rolling melodics lull your soul at the end of a roller-coaster ride you will want to go on again and again.
  • The Freshman.

Okay, so I was obsessed with the song, The Freshmen. I realized that maybe since the song had potential, I could check out the rest of the album, but, they aren't quite "I-can't-stop-listening-to-this-album." I mean, I know they could be HUGE, because this band does have great talent. Try harder, 3 stars for the great effort and The Freshmen. :)
