My "Beyond" CD is in my car on "LOUD"; it makes me emotional every time I listen to these compositions. My car has a great sound system where I can be alone with my music; I don't care if I'm in a traffic jam for hours! I am blown away by the multi layered effect in each piece and have become addicted. The energy and excitment that he weaves through out his creations is contagious. I read where people have gone to see him--WHERE? It would be such a treat to be in his audience and hearing his music live. Now I have found this CD " Within" on Pandora and I love it too--how lucky can a person be?

Butterflies and Hurricanes is obviously not his song. It's a Muse cover from Absolution. It is a fantastic cover, although I (even instrumentaly) prefere the original. That put aside...I just have to wonder... obviously the man is a pianist. One of the reasons why Butterflies and Hurricanes is such a great song is because Matthew Bellamy presents a piano solo that is up to par with Rachmaninoff. So wouldn't you think a pianist would cover that song in order to do the piano solo? But...When the time comes for the piano solo in Joseph's version he simply flutters some notes and lets the orchestra play. It's a beautiful cover but seriously if you are going to cover B&H at least attempt to do Bellamy's solo. Then again I kind of wonder if he could...So I walk away from this still confident that Matt Bellamy is the greatest pianist of our generation. Don't believe me. Try looking up the original live ;)

I absolutely love his music! I listen to it all the time. Piano Fantasy is my favorite I have listened to it over 150 times. I can't wait till he has a new album.

I actually like the Led Zep's Kashmir rendition. It shows versatility in his music & Lucia Micarelli is wonderful. I heard them at a Josh Groban concert...awesome! I just wish the song wasn't cut so short. It's like a big piece of it is missing.

What a happy discovery! This album fulfilled and exceeded all my aspirations for it. Song after song of rich melodies, lush orchestrations, poignant reveries, and memorable themes flow track upon track. Each listen is a joy as quick stepping or introspective piano melodies doused with waves of rich orchestration lift the spirits and carry you away in clouds of rapturous glory. The variety is stunning, the performances rousing, the production first class, and the musical muse unfettered. There is so much depth here that you’ll find something new with each repetition. Late at night, as I walk under the stars listening to these soaring strains, my burdens seem ever so light, the future ever so bright. I was so impressed with this album that I purchased a number of copies and gave them away as Christmas gifts to those who I know love piano music. Here is a performer I long to hear more from—let’s hope he gets a chance to record another album. After my first listen, I closely read the liner notes as the orchestration style reminded me of an album I purchased twenty five years ago. Sure enough, the producer on this CD is David Foster, who in the early 80s composed and recorded an album called “The Symphony Sessions.” If you like “Within,” go take a listed to “The Symphony Sessions” which can also be found on iTunes. There you’ll find many beautiful antecedents to this rich music.

I've played piano my whole life and was just online looking up a new great piece to play. I came across William's name so i looked him up on iTunes. I listened to "Within" and my jaw was half way to the floor. AMAZING!

About the so called "defect". It was placed there purposely, for effect. He stated this so on his message board regarding it as an effect. If you play it loudly with a nice stereo system and bass, it should sound pretty cool. I can't imagine what it would sound like without the pause. The album is excellent. Each song takes you to different places. Beautifully composed. Worth buying.
