Black Tar and Siberian Nights are the standouts to me. Great raunchy guitar by Jamie.

See them live! Edgy, delirious and raw. Their music makes me want to do loud things.
  • Nice late-night feel

This album is different from the previous efforts in that it has more of a late-night feel to it. They have experiemtned with electronics a bit and have let their songs roll more for a more consistant sounding track. Tracks like Doing It To Death, Black Tar, and Whirling Eye are my favorites but the whole album as a whole is very good. I like the direction they've chosen to go in. Bands have to eveolve. Sometimes they don't always do it gracefully but this is an example of a band that is doing it right
  • The underrated duo!

You guys are just brilliant. This album is pretty different from The Kills' previous works, but I absolutely love it that the raw and gritty sound is still prevalent in these songs instead of them sounding too mainstream. Keep it up guys, good music like this is hard to find nowadays. "You've got to go straight ahead"!! <3

Check out siberian nights, and Impossible tracks. Not everyone is a must but these are.
  • No bite

There are a few gems in there, but it's mostly yawn inducing. I visit The Kills for acerbic guitar/rhythms and taunting lyrics. This effort is lacks that, in my opinion. It isn't awful, but that isn't good enough for me. It is unfortunate, too, because these songs probably sound great live. Maybe it's the production? I don't know, but I'm not enthralled enough to buy it.

Standout songs: Hard Habit to Break, Bitter Fruit, Hum for Your Buzz, Siberian Nights, Impossible Tracks, and Echo Home
  • Extra Electronic fakeness is a drawback.

I love this band and i respect both the vocals and the guitar work. I understand why the electronic fakeness is used here, but it's CLEAR that the guitar heavy songs are the more popular tracks. I'm going to have to cherry pick from here on out.
