When I was a younger man the Eagles were my go to band. “Carry on San Vicente” evokes memories of “Desperado”. I could close my eyes through a lot of these songs and hear Don Henley singing a bunch of Dave Barnes songs…

The one thing you can count on from any Dave Barnes offering is a smooth vocal and a great lyric, and "Carry on, San Vicente" is no exception. This latest album is distinctly country, but with a Dave Barnes slant.
Beautiful electric guitar work has been weaved throughout each of the tracks and really helps sell the longing lyric of the ballad "Sunset, Santa Fe". All in all, another terrific collection of tunes from one of my favorite artists.

Fan of Dave Barnes? Pick up this album. I love the whole album, but my personal favorites are the title track, "Wildfire", "Sunset, Santa Fe", "Nothing Like You", and "Wildfire Heart". Your ears will be overjoyed to allow these sweet melodies into your brain to be stored there for all time.

I have never heard of Dave Barnes before. I was scrolling through the new music on iTunes and, as always, I play one or two songs on each album to see if anything sounds decent enough to buy. Found this album and instant fell in love with this artist. Definitely will be getting this album and checking out his others as well! Beautiful lyrics! Love it!!

The guitar parts invoke classic rock tones and roomy, western landscapes. Still plenty of pop sound in there though. Lyrically it seems a lot more effort has been put into this album, and that for me makes it the best yet perhaps. Dave sounds more like a songwriter than pop industry product and that, IMO, is excellent. Keep it up, Dave!
