My grandfather recently died of pancrotic cancer and he served for 40 yrs in the air force. At his funeral they played this song and it just about made my day. Thank You so much. This song made me remember when he came home to me and my little brother and i still remember how happy hebwas to make it home. Thank You! I really miss him a lot! Everytime i hear this song it sends tears to my eyes to c all the heros who r there for our country. I have seen him in my room a few times but he is a beautiful angel, for My Hero Came Home<3

Being military we have gone through this so many times. Our children were always telling Dad bye or welcome HOME DAD! This literally brought tears to my eyes to know by hearing this and identifying w/ith so much, I can feel the way I did, when this happened to us,many , many times. I got a plaque when my husband retired and I really did feel like I deserved it, wives serve too by helping , mailing pkgs, mail ,wives meetings and other ways. Military wives do not always get the credit they deserve..They raise the children and have them alone, at times. It is very difficult.. The version where the little boy says "I Love You Dad and Too" reminds me of our little son saying exactly the same thing. he was small. Thanks to Richie , Lonestar for doing this, I really appreciate your Gift of Song. Thanks and God Bless, Jeri-MS & FL You Guys are Great!

A great song that lives on many different levels. Lonestar is a great band. When I first heard this song I tought of the people trapped in the Towers calling home to tell their loved ones that they would always be there with them. I agree with one of the reviews that this song could be one of the best ever. It touches your heart.

My hunsband is in the US Army and every time I hear this song, I cannot help but cry. The worry is always on my mind that he will get that call to war. But even if he does, this song always reminds me that no matter how far apart we are, our love is forever strong. I am always here with my heart and arms open for him when he gets home. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!

so so so true and heartbreaking. with friends of mine joining the military, and leaving, the heartbreak is very real, and to see that someone understands that brings peace to my heart and mind.
