I've only heard the Coldharbour Mix and I have to say that it is amazing. It takes a lot to impress me--but this MOVED me.

I only got to hear the shorter version on XM in my car going 80 mph down the california coast. Boy let me tell you this extended version I just bought made me cry and gave me niplies. I cant wait to use this on my I-Pod at the gym

The set has subtle differences. If your looking for that electronic sound from Departure than try Markus Shultz' Progression album. On that album go for tracks 12 and 13 both titled "Cause you know" . For the $3.99 these songs are worth it

Before I get to the praise, I have some bad news. The Gabriel & Dresden Remix is, I'm sorry to say, not worth the extra few dollars. The production is great, but it didn't seem to evoke the same emotion that the Coldharbour mix did. There is a shortened version of the G&D remix on the iTrance 3 album (at the regular 99 cent price) that I still recommend getting. Now on to the good part. The Coldharbour mix is incredible. I can't find a way to describe it, but I'll just say that during the breakdown in the middle of the song, the part where that synth melody just floats in, hits me every time I listen to it. It's a new experience every time I hear it. Definitely get the Coldharbour mix and the Gabriel & Dresden edit.

    I. LOVE. THIS. SONG. However, unlike the vast majority (actually all of them so far I think...), I do not believe the Gabriel and Dresden Remix is the better remix of the two included. Personally, I think the Coldharbour Remix blows the other completely out of the water. Let me explain why. The Gabriel & Dresden Remix is 11:13 long, and is 3 dollars extra (because you can only buy it with the other track). Money is not the issue here, though. Throughout this remix, basically the same riff repeats and repeats. Well, for most of the song. It's simply a bit too repetitive. I do admit the remix is well done, but compared to the Coldharbour Remix, it seems simply mediocre. The Coldharbour Remix is much darker, and fits the tone of the song much better. The breakdown is amazing - the tune which comes in at the end of the breakdown is the absolute best part of the song (besides for the cool vocals), and it is missing from the other remix. Basically, I would probably urge you to buy both versions of "Without You Near" because both are really enjoyable, but I would choose the Coldharbour Remix over Gabriel and Dresden's in a heartbeat. Listen for yourself, and make your choice.

i'm not complaining- the two songs were great- but why can you only get the sah-weet song with the album? buy the album if you have 4 bucks to throw around, otherwise just get the coldhardour mix, it's almost as good.
  • Worth the 4 bucks for G & D version!

Not meaning to diss the Coldharbour version, which is a good version, but there is NOTHING like the G & D mix... for 11-ish minutes, it just gets under your skin and makes you feel like want to keep listening to it for the rest of your life. Don't miss out on this G & D, it is some of the best out there.

when i heard this song with the sampel it did'nt sound that good.you only get to hear like the middle part of the songs so your stuck with buying at your on risk.however that was'nt the case.this song is unbelievably smooth and soothing.the gabriel & dresden mix is verey easy and peaceful.a laid back verson.the markus schulz coldharbour mix is absoloutley beautiful.it takes you to another world with it's unearthly tones and flawless sound.both of these songs were prefectly done.

Wow, this is amazing. Obviously, get the G & D mix. Its well worth the extra $3. If you like this, check out: 1) Gabriel & Dresden - Tracking Treasure Down. 2) Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (Gabriel & Dresden Chillout mix) 3) Andain - Beautiful Things. 4) Armin Van Buuren - Shivers. 5) Delerium Ft. Sarah Mclachlan - Silence (Tiesto In Search of Sunrise Remix) Enjoy.

alright iTunes, do the math with me... 99 cents per song... two songs... that's a dollar and 98 cents. Oh wait the g&d mix is 2 minutes and 16 seconds longer than the other mix.. that defenitely means its worth more than three dollars alone... sorry i botherd you
