Sara Watkins really excels on this, her second individual album. She is without doubt an exceptionally talented artist and deserves far more recognition. I saw her recently on tour with Jackson Browne, to be honest Sara stole the show, ably assisted by her brother Sean, another very good musician. Take your time to explore this album, it will not disappoint.

I can't stop listening to--and singing--this album. These songs have remained bobbing around in my head every day since I bought it. And each time I find myself singing, it's a different song from the album. A savory collection of both dark and light moods, though even the dark are wrapped in a gorgeous warmth and a hopeful cadence. Wonderful.

I love Nickel Creek and love Sara's Solo Album. I kinda wish she would do a stripped down acoustic album...maybe do an album of stripped down Nickel Creek songs with Fiona Apple (so wish I caught one of their shows when Fiona toured with them- sigh!). This is a great album and even more impressive for her first solo effort!! Fave tracks: Take Up Your Spade, When It Pleases You.

I had never heard Sara's solo work before until I saw her in concert in April. I love Nickel Creek so I assumed I would love her solo work. I was blown away by her!! She mainly played songs off this album. When I got it yesterday, I felt like I was coming home to a friend. "You and Me" and "When it pleases you" are favorites but my new theme song is "Take Up Your Spade". This is a must for your collection!
