This is my personal favorite album the Professor has put out. Each song is distinct from the others and each leads to unique dimensions of senses brought to you by the Professor. A sense of age, mystery, beauty, and warmth haunt every piece beginning with the powerful Kunte Kinte and then opening up like a hot day begins with Roots Land. The third song, River Niger, is probably the nicest two minutes of music to play on the first day of spring when the honeysuckle begins to wander down country lanes and backyards. The song captures the natural beauty of one of Africa's most lustrous rivers as a rare calm and peaceful day. As the album continues, you can't help but to enjoy the slight goofiness in the music and you know the Professor is really enjoying making songs like Africa 1983 Dub and Get Drunk and Celebrate. The haunt continues with the English Connection and Beyond the Realms of Dub, which is where you want to be. The Mad Professor exhibits a wide range of emotion, mood and innovation in this second installment making it a must have for those venturing beyond the realms of dub -dub -dub....
