  • My Introduction, to #TangerineDream – back, in the 80's…

My late Father introduced me, to #TangerineDream – back, in the early 80's – with this album: EXIT. It's Hypnotic melodies captivated me, at a very young age – with songs, like: KIEW MISSION, PILOTS OF PURPLE TWILIGHT, CHRONOZON, EXIT, NETWORK 23, and REMOTE VIEWING – only to keep me returning, for more! Every TANGERINE DREAM Album [before 2004], in the APPLE MUSIC Store, my Father owned (unfortunately, they were LOST, after he died); With their inclusion, in APPLE MUSIC, I've been able to… "Reclaim"… some of them! (I'm always "on the lookout", for more – to be added, to APPLE MUSIC – so that they may be added, to my ever-growing Library!) After the death, of the group's founder – EDGAR FROËSE – in 2015, I wondered "what would happen to the group, now?" Turns out that his son – JEROME FROËSE – would secure his father's legacy, by assuming the mantle, that had been passed down to him – more recently, with the release of their new album: RECURRING DREAMS! Other TANGERINE DREAM albums, to keep your eyes out for, include: CANYON DREAMS, ROCKOON, LILY ON THE BEACH, MIRACLE MILE, OPTICAL RACE, LOGOS, and 220 VOLT (LIVE) – for starters!

I did not grow up with TD because I was born in 87, but my dad introduced me to them. This album is awesome, but my favorite is the Thief soundtrack.
  • Not Your Oldtime Tangerine Dream -But Great All the Same

I remember being a little put-out when I first bought this back in the day. I was expecting an oldtime TD album like "Phaedra" or "Rubycon". Instead, I got a Rock-oriented and highly-commercial electronic album. However, I very quickly discovered this was a downright awesome new direction for the band and now I rate it among their best. There isn't a bad tune on this album, and anyone who never progressed beyond the old mellotron and synth days would be best-served to put all of their doubts aside and simply enjoy! How I wish Edgar and the boys would record another masterpiece like this one...Makes me wonder what Chris Franke and Joannes Schmoelling are doing now.

How do you write of a great band. TD is the band when it comes to electronic music. Exit is one of there best. I have been a fan of TD for a long time and I would have to say this is a great collection of songs for the novice. If you like this, you will be hooked. Don't stop here. There is so much more that you have not heard. Journey on. The best is yet to come.

This was one of those albums that became part of the soundtrack to my college years in the mid- eighties. A great find and a great compilation of their work as it transitioned musically. If you only knew thier music from the soundtrack of Risky Business, this is a great introduction into the workd that is Tangerine Dream.
  • One of their best

My first TD album and still one of my favorites. Covers the gamut from concise, upbeat compositions to dark spooky and ethereal, with a little of everything in between. More structured than past works, but a far cry - thankfully - from the mediocre new age sound that has defined them since the late 1980s up to the present day.
