The album is good but if you think like it sounds like something that came out a couple years ago it's because it did.

this is the result of terrible ideas mixed with hi-quality production all the beats sound the same and boring, the raps are not impressive at all, so where does the "surprise" part come in? it doesn't. and yes, hyphy IS dead. get real, NOBODY does that anymore, as of 4/24/09, nobody.
  • Boring!!!!!!!!!!!

The bay area is good for after work thursdays, dancehall fridays, and Neo soul ----Hip Hop ? I think not !! This music proves it. That Hyphy is dead and gone; it will never return.

People don't get that there is only one kind of Hyphy. E-40 is hyphy and every rapper in the bay is hyphy. These songs are not outdated you just don't want to admit that you don't like hyphy music. This is an amazing album and is wil worth the money. I am from the bay.

All you guys must not be real bay catz then. Because this hit the streets around xmas 07. Thats why grown man was on it. Its just finally itunes picked it up because hyphy is popular now. So, dont bag it, if you dont really know. I think this slapped in 07. yeah it is a little outdated for now, but everyone is makign ringtone raps anyway. Just listen and enjoy. That Onerz slaps.

its a good mix of old and new, but its not revitalizing the hyphy movement. most of the newer stuff sounds like it some dirty south rap. the suburbs issue is most definatly true, but the stuff that dropped a few years ago has become a classic fixture for both youth in oakland and sf—where im from. bay area hip hop is much deeper than hyphy though and always will be. it is very rich, and besides the big names outta LA (dre, DJ Quick, Snoop, warren G) i would say that the original west coast sounds that everyone else around the nation thinks looking back at the 90's was rooted in the bay. its a very rich and little known history to anyone who isnt from here. i wish the hyphyt movement pushed on its roots and incorperated it more, i understand about wanting to sound new but, gotta look at where we came from at the same time. i think if that happened, the hyphy movement would have a more unique sound and would find its place in national recognition. regardless, much love to these cats, rather you like them or not. they are filled with a lot of personality and have a unique presentation that is totally their own. to me, that was the beauty of the hyphy movement, people being themselves and not giveing a **** how they sound. that was the beauty of it when it went mainstream too, tho it became a fad. im not gonna hate on this, even if it sounds like i am, im just tellin some facts. i hope it doesnt go national in a lot of ways, its our music, anyone can apperciate it, n once it goes national, it turns into what E40 is doing today....turning his back on his career's legacy and his home. anyways thats my 2 cent from the place i grew up in. like it or not.
