I will start this review with honesty. By that I mean to inform all readers that I am a completely bias fan of Jackie Gouche and for the past few years I've been aware of her tremendous talents and blessings as a singer/songwriter. Secondly I mean that I will give an honest review despite my bias position. The album as a whole was filled with many straight forward christian messages which is odvious in the title track The way you see which is my least favorite song on the album. It's a very powerful message and in my opinion the strongest on the album. All of mankind is guilty of viewing ourselves as only we can see and not the way that God see's us. When you look at yourself through God's eyes it's a much better picture. The way you see is my least favorite song on the album not because it's a bad song but for me the arrangement lyrically doesn't flow. Psamls 100 is a great up tempo praise and worship song istructing us to bless the name of the lord. It is followed by Bless your name which follows the same idea of Psalms 100 and the title is self explanatory with the throw back reference to perpetual praise(Bam Crawford's Purpose). After which the title track plays and preceeds Lord Take Me Higher exprsessing a desire to be elevated in the will of God as well as be molded by God. Victory in your praise comes next with the message that God will fight all your battles and the way to obtain anything from God the way to acquire it is through praise ("Whatever you need it's in your praise. When praises go up blessings come down")America bless God is such a profound idea it amazes me that noone ever thought about it before or if they did why didn't they make it available for all of America to ponder. Thank God for Jackie Gouche. The first time that I heard this song was shortly after George W. Bush's reelection and at that moment is was a necessity. I enjoy the way it's made known in the lyrics that we as a nation expect God to bless us but have never thought about blessing him in return for the many undeserving blessings he bestowes up us. Blessed is the man (psalms 1) is another simple yet profound idea that's been made available to all as long as the bible has been in print but not something that everyone takes advantage of. If you live your life for God and walk in the way of his word your life will be a blessing. For me Life Goes On is a tear jerking emotional roller coaster ride. If it were a movie it would be a "chick flick"! I say that because most have lost someone special or suffered the ending of a era. At that time you may think you can never exist without what's been lost to you but Life Goes On. The most calm declaration to God is the song I Stand In Awe. God is so awesome that as a mere mortal what more can I do but stand in awe of his love for lovers and haters alike. What more can I do but stand in awe of a father who loves unconditionally no matter the many conditions I suffer in life. What more can I do but stand in awe of a savior who loves and keeps me so undeservingly. Needless to say this is my favorite song on the album and a serious rival for my favorite Jackie Gouche song My Help with Bam Crawford's purpose. To conclude the album My Three Sons speaks of the blessing of her children and God's devine intervention. As a whole the album is amazing. Ms. Gouche's voice and vocal range is phenomonal as well as the musicians and background singers. If you are a christian this album is a must have, if you are a gospel music lover this album is a must have, if you are a music lover this album is a must have, if you love a strong sorprano voice this album is a must have. Repeating myself is becoming redundant but this album is a must have.
