Reading most of the above reviews only strengthens by belief that children should not play on their parents' computers unsupervised. Nigel Kennedy has done with Hendrix's music the same as he did with tunes composed by The Doors; completely reinvented them into unique works of art that are to be listened to and enjoyed for what they are. These most excellent variations are a very far cry from the '99 Woodwinds play your Favorite Beatles Hits' genre of rock/classical crossover that was popular a generation ago. It takes a true artist and virtuoso like Nigel Kennedy to bring a totally different layer of artistic fire to these compositions. I do not think that the ghost of Jimi minds.

Nigel Kennedy's a great violinist, but this is a mess. Fire sounds like a hillbilly hoedown. Plug your ears, Jimi, plug your ears!

I'm not a fan of Jimi Hendrix, but I love these arrangements.

I've heard some terrible covers of rock song on classical instruments before, but this is just... horrible leave the classic rock alone and stop trying to make it sound "better" by playing it on a classic instrument. If it was meant to be played on a cello it would have been.
