Been listening to McAnally since his self titled first album...still in my top 100 rotation, No Problem here followed and he just kept getting better...if you can find any of his early material .... get it!!!! you will not be disapointed...he has worked with Jimmy Buffet, Nancy Grifith and written for most of Nashville...he is the South's answer to James Taylor, a story teller and musician all wrapped up in one...i can guarentee that if you get his first two albums, you will buy everything else out there! Come one iTunes...get it in gear! His live show is just as good...saw him in a small venue in Natchez, Ms...no words can describe his voice and lyrical style...

Mac has always been a favorite of mine. I've managed to get "Minimum Love", "Gulf Coast Highway", "It's A Crazy World" and the incomparable "Like Your Mother" into my iTunes library. I also have the complete albums No Problem Here (1978), Live and Learn (1992, including "Still Life") and Knots (1994). Send me an email at the name above (at hotmail) to share Mac info.

Mac is my cousin, and he grew up in Belmont, Ms and he has always been extremly innovative in his thinking. He is an extremly down to earth guy. I am proud to have Mac in my family, and in my radio. Buy this Album, and I reccommend Simple Life which was realesed in the early 90's. The Cd is hard to find but it is possible. It has original country hits on it with back ground by Ricky Scaggs, and Vince Gill among others.

Would LOVE to see all his works here. Have been looking for the album with "We're having a Funeral" for years. He's great and deserves to have all his works available.

Mac McAnally is a fantastic writer and performer! I looked forever for "Simple Life", one of his earler releases. I finally found it in a used cd store, and it was worth the price. Why doesn't iTunes release any of his earlier work?
  • One of the great unsung songwriters

Mac's music has received a bit of exposure as some tracks have been recorded by or with Jimmy Buffett. But his own music and recordings stand very, very well on their own. As a recovering Parrothead, I'm glad to see more of Mac's work, and glad his work is being recorded by JB. It's fresh, clever, and a real treasure.
  • Mac McAnally: His music connects!

I've listened to Mac ever since I first heard his music in the early 80's in the Shoals (Alabama). Thanks Greg for my first Mac "cassette". Mac's lyrics and music have always depicted his God-given talents. He connects with his listeners. Many other stars have recorded his music. Even Jimmy Buffett is a Mac fan! I've had the privilege of meeting Mac and listening to his music a few times in person as well. He's a musician's musician, clever and insightful songwriter, and a true entertainer. Please iTunes, get the WHOLE Mac collection available here!

Any Mac McAnally album is literally another Master Class at Songwriting University. These days he's probably best known as part of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band. But that's all to the good because more people will, hopefully, investigate further and meet Mac and his solo work. The best hint I can give you is to look closely at any Buffett Tour schedule ... you can figure that Mac will be doing a solo concert or two on the surrounding dates. His work (there's lots of out-of-print stuff) is worth seeking out. For now, Semi-True Stories is a great place to start. And, at least for now, the only place to start on iTunes.
  • If you this is a good album...

then you've got to hear 1983's "Nothing but the Truth" and 1978's "No Problem Here." Fantastic singing, songwriting, and instrumentalization. "No Problem Here" is available on CD, but "Nothing but the Truth" as never been released digitally, at least as far as I can tell. Someone, please -- Mac, Geffen Records, anybody -- make "Nothing but the Truth" available!
  • Album is fresh and inspiring

Mac has always been a stapel for up and coming songwriters. A solid knack of storytelling and weaving a musican"s asrtistry with a tapestry of various Americana stories. How could I talk you into offering his debut album It"s A Crazy World? Surely the break out album for Mac and a classic to people lucky enough to take in this project. Surely it would produce lots of downloads and expose people to his best
