Allison Crowe has a beautiful, sultry voice and knows how to use it! Her rendition of "Hallelujah" is moving, and "Let It Be" will have you next to tears if you allow it to. I believe that she has the stuff to make it big. The only drawback to this album, and it's no fault of the singer, is that the production values of the recordings are a bit off. The tracks are overpowered to the point of clipping and distortion when Allison's powerful voice really turns it up. Other than that, it's a pure delight to hear such a talented artist.

Wow--mainstream radio needs more Allison Crowes. The depth of her voice and her bluesy attitude make this an amazing and refreshing album in a world of squeaky-clean production and American Idol. Daring in it's simplicity, "Tidings" is the most original Christmas album I've been lucky enough to find. Listen to Allison, she'll break your heart.

I had only heard of Allison Crowe before listening to this album. Holy cow... she's got some pipes. What an amazing voice! Also, a lot of the songs are what you would expect on a Christmas album, but about half are not. A couple of amazing Beatles covers and some others. Fantastic CD! Oh... and you can download it for free off of her website!
