Reviews

  • Journey-esque

Here, the three tracks that stick out foremost in my mind are the ones backed by Journey founding member Neal Schon (guitar) and long-time member Jonathan Cain (keyboards), as well as former members Randy Jackson (bass) and Mike Baird (drums) . . . Wait on Love; (Sittin' On) The Dock of The Bay; You're All That I Need. Around the time of this album's release, Bolton was even rumored as a possible replacement in Journey after the departure of legendary frontman Steve Perry. Imagine that!
  • This album is pretty freakin' good!!!

Say what you want to about Michael Bolton, but this album is one of my favorites by him. It has a nice balance of 80's pop and rock combined. I've had the CD since I was in my early teens and have listened to it regularly over the years.

Bolton Finds his "Soul" in this 1987 album with stellar passion on covering Otis Redding's Hit "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay" from the snippets here I am ecourage to actually wanting to buy the actual cd.. "That's What Love Is All About" is a glittering display of passion and heartache with a lush arrangement of strings . There are not too many songs like that nowadays the music scene is geared towards the sounds of acts like "Daughtry" and "Nickelback" and others in the mainstream top 40 or so. The mid to late 80's was Bolton's peak with the cover of Otis Redding's song and "That's What Love Is All About" and I am surprised that there weren't any other potential hits from this particular album...I would have to say "Walk Away" could've had potential to be a hit but if anyone had this album please listen through it ya never know you'll find other faves from this album.. I love the title track I think that would have had great potential of being a hit!! Key Tracks:(at least I think) The Hunger-Title Track (Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay Walk Away
