The Cardinals are the baseball team based in St. Louis, Missouri. Gretchen is a Missouri native having spent her earlier years here. As such, she is a big Cardnials fan. This song was her way of giving something special to the Cardinals fans back home. In 2004, it was assumed that because of their stellar year, the Cardinals would win the World Series. Gretchen had just hit the scene and was a hugh star. So she rerecorded her Redneck Woman song as Redbird Fever. The Cardinals didn't win when it was originally released but they did win the 2006 World Series.

I don't get this song AT ALL! It's to the tune of Redneck Woman. It's weird, so unless you are the biggest Gretchen Wilson fan on this Earth, don't buy it. Uh... ByE!
