Every song is phenomenal, imo. Totally cements Paul Rodgers as the greatest frontman in the last 50 years.
Amazing

Having found out that Paul had gone through some serious health issues, It’s amazing that this album got made at all. He is still in fine voice, and a great writer. Everyone always wants more. I’m happy with whatever this man gives us as he’s giving us so much over the years. A lovely man. Always a favorite! Wishing you and Cynthia all the house and happiness. I Love Love Love!

The tunes are great. Paul sounds fantastic.
Only 8 songs??? not a full album of music really. But I'll take it.
No album notes with the download?
Where do we get more info on the music - who the players are etc... It's part of the fun. Need more detail. Thanks.

Paul Rodgers has never lost his voice, arguably the greatest in the blues/rock genre of all time and his songwriting is still intact as well... only knock on this album is that there isn't more ... but hard to say that about much anymore. Looking forward to seeing him live ... again!
Soul and swagger!

Few can even come close to the soulful rock and roll powerhouse vocals of Paul Rodgers.
This man’s resume speaks for itself and has influenced so many musicians and music lovers such as myself (it is criminal he is not in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with either Free or Bad Company)
His voice has not lost much (if anything at all) throughout the past 50+ years although NOTHING will ever compare vocally to his early Free days. Onto “Midnight Rose.” This latest release is chalk full of mid-tempo songs. I could have used one or two slamming rockers sprinkled throughout to propel this lates release.
Some definite solid tracks littered throughout. But after listening to this over and over, I am left feeling like Paul Rodgers is capable of better. Nothing on here comes across and hits you hard like Free, Bad Company or The Firm during their respective heydays. Although “Living It Up” is a decent mid-paced blues rocker, I just was not too impressed when it was first released. It has slowly grown on me. “Take Love” was the second track released and I enjoyed this rollicking mid-tempo track a bit more.
Suggested tracks you check out would be “Coming Home” with its galloping groove and “Photo Shooter” is also another good track in the same vein as Coming Home with its melodic mid-tempo sensibilities
“Dance In the Sun” is another decent mid-tempo track featuring Rolling Stones’ touring pianist Chuck Leavell.
The album continues to grow on me but I still do not rate it as highly as “Now” or “Electric.”
Overall, I just feel like he needs some better songs and perhaps some co-writing sessions with his peers or even some young up and coming musicians for some much-needed friction and creativity.
I always wished he had gotten together with Roger Fisher from Heart & Alias for a full album or written more with Neal Schon of Journey. Either of those guitarists would have definitely elevated Rodgers output.
