Probably my 2nd favorite CD of the 90's behind only Radiohead's 'okay computer'. Brilliant and a welcome relief after years of early 90's grunge navel gazing and angst. This was FUN and great songwriting. Of the caliber of Elton John and Billy Joel.

This album is great. Give it a listen. Every song is good. The more I listen to Kate (favorite song on the album), the more I think it could have been a top summer song if released as a single or video. But that's what makes Ben Folds great. He was and never has been a sell out. In fact he purposefully made that left turn at Albuquerque after the popularity of Brick.

I'm pretty sure I still remember this album word for word. Can't say that for any other band.

This was the first cd i ever owned. I got it as a present from my parents christmas of 97 and I will never forget this album. Still one of my favorite albums of all time. From funny and laid back (song for the dumped, one angry dwarf) to sad and emotional (brick, evaporated) Whatever and Ever Amen has it all. Ben is an amazing artist and he continues to make great albums, but nothing will ever compare to this album.

Unlike the review would have you believe, Ben Folds' humor is not in any way smug; rather, it is brilliant and dead on in most cases, especially on the two songs mentioned above. Definitely the best album of the Five.

My brother gave me this CD a loooong time ago. Its still so catchy and enjoyable to listen to that I am still marveling it. Song for the Dumped still makes me laugh, Brick still breaks my heart, and I am still as in love with the song Kate as I was the first time I heard it.
