I used to own this on cassette tape and would like to buy at the very least House next month or so. Every fan has their own reason as to why they love one song more than another song by the same band. For me, Pretty in Pink got played to death on radio. I would totally understand if Mr. Butler felt that House is old hat for him now since this song was released back in 1989. Wow! Am I really that old and does time fly or what?

"House" is the second best Furs song after "The Ghost in You" and this CD is their best. Shine, Entertain Me, Torch, Should God Forget all GREAT.

While I appreciate the attempt at trying to reclaim the sound and feel of the first album, Book of Days is ultimately a huge mess, lacking any of the definable hooks and memorable moments of their eponymous release. Easily my least favorite of all the Furs output. Richard Butler seems more disinterested than involved.

I liked this CD as it has an overall dark vibe. It's definately not "Pretty in Pink". If your looking for a good non-pop sounding Furs CD this is it. Sonically, the first 3 songs are very strong and keep you interested for the rest of the CD.

As a Furs fan from way back, Book of Days returns to the sound of the early days found on The Psychedeluc Furs, Talk Talk Talk, and Forever Now. The yaketty sax is reminiscent and the swirling guitar a work of art. Richard Butler's vocals are a bit more polished than the early albums on most songs, but it doesn't take away from them. Well done Furs! This album is a must have for any Furs fan.
