Turned on to this cat when purchasing my Brookstone message chair......the guy said it was a must have for the iPod integration function....fuc*** A right he was. Now I have everything Shane has put out and eagerly await my next injection.....Good stuff.

I have a habit of discovering music by accident. I'm looking for something else and instead a band like Govinda falls into my path. I never regret these accidents. Govinda has such a unique style and I can chill with this music as I enjoy Spring Break. Keep them coming Govinda and thank you!
  • Top Album ever!

Words cannot convey the emotion, passion, creativity, and overall expression that this album posseses. Of all the albums I own, I listen to this one most often. The music within this particular album are all songs that can be played for almost any individual or in any circumstance and everyone can agree it's a fabulous mood-setter. It's one of those albums that anyone will like and whenever I throw parties or get-togethers or just want to chill by myself, this is what I play. The feeling I get with "oneness" and "connection" with this album is more than supernatural, it's a conflaguration of spiritual transcendental methodology.

This is my first exposure to Govinda besides a Govinda Remix of a Thievery Corp. song. This album is a great fusion of dubby-exotic tunes that any fan of this genre will enjoy. This album is tight from beginning to end. Enjoy the journey.
  • Best album out of the 120gb of music I have

BUY THIS ALBUM!!! You'll be very pleased with your purchase. It's Funky, Psychedelic, & Groovy. I bought the hard CD copy as well as buying it here to help support Govinda. I hope Govinda produces many more albums in the near future. They're getting better everytime. Sound Sutras was just released a few days ago....WTF!!! Why isn't it on iTunes already???

It's rare to listen to an album and enjoy EVERY song. this one does it for me. Perfect blend of percussion, ethereal backround sounds, haunting and spiritual vocals. Bravo.

There are 5 or 6 CDs of Govinda now that could be on here. O Earthly Gods, Entwined and Entranced, Echos of Eden, Evilution and Erotic Rhythms From Earth are just a few of his releases. He's also created a beautiful CD with GFire as well called Electric Sadhana. Not to mention the fact that he has a vinyl record called Ethnic Confusion-ism that would be GREAT here (since I no longer have a working record player). This is the tip of the iceberg, people. Go out and buy these CDs!!
  • What Took iTunes So Long to Carry This?

I found this CD last summer and it's one of my all-time favorites for melodic downbeat. It's so beautiful! Highly recommended.

first off, stop reading this review now and buy the CD! If you still need further sway, read on I got it in stores when it came out and have loved it ever since. the cornucopia of different worldly sounds collide into a grooving unique techno beat that makes Govinda a soul quenching feast your the ears. I have the ut most respect for this artist in combining so many different aspects and sounds in his music. and his tireless effort paid off the first sound, "charming the serpent" is my personal fav followed closely by tach 2 4 6 and 9. I wish I tunes had more of this artist. I have a previous album "oh earthly gods" as well. it is a great CD with "nomads” being the best song, I would give it 5 stars as well but I can't get over how annoying his grandmothers voice is on one song called “Diva Dora my grandmother”. she absolutely ruins an otherwise absolutely perfect sound. why govinda, why?? unfortunatly you have to go out and buy that one. but I digress. This album has no grandmothers, a lot of groove. And is just great music. “World Within” gets my acclaimed 5 stars!!! each album and song by this artist is totally different and eclectic. so have fun! Owen Wilson out!
