My daughter has a hard time "turning her brain off" when it's time for bed. She started listening to this to help her fall asleep and it has really helped so much. Definitely recommend.

I LOVE this CD. Why? I am a school social worker who works with all kinds of kids who have various issues like ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Asperger's Syndrome and Cognitive impairments and this little treasure has been helpful in all cases. I've used it in classrooms to do group meditation and visualization and I've used it with individual students to decrease anxiety, hyperactivity and opposition. Who could listen to this and NOT feel relaxed. The woman who narrates has a wonderfully soothing voice at just the right tempo. Use it often to have the desired affect.

Thank goodness for this CD, my boys are sleeping more soundly than ever and now they actually look forward to going to sleep because they can't wait to listen to their favorite stories. Finally! Something that works!

I've owned this CD for two years now and my three daughters (ages 8, 5 and 2) all go to sleep to the CD every night still. I disagree about the scary breathing. I don't think it sounds like a giant. During the story, an animal needs to calm down. To calm down, the animal takes deep breaths, at which time there is a prompt that says "Breath in, 2, 3, 4; out, 2, 3, 4." While this is going on, you can hear breathing in the background. The breathing referred to by another post is that background breathing that is helping children to control and slow down their breathing. I think this is a great CD. I heard about it from a friend/child therapist and referred it to my mom's group.

We have two boys who have had traumatic events in their past. They love it and fall asleep to it every night. It has also been helpful in stressful situations to have a calming effect and get them to take deep breaths. They breathe along with the breathing on the cd. We have found it to be a useful tool.
  • A Great Success

I totally disagree with the other reviews. This cd has been a lifesaver for my anxious child and my other children enjoy as well. They like all of the stories very much and sometimes I even find myself falling asleep to them. I specifically asked them what they thought of the soundtrack part and they all said they enjoyed it and it reminded them to take slow deep breaths to help relax. One even correctly noted that the breathing was the sound the bear makes after he falls asleep in the Boy and the Bear story. So my suggestion is give it a try! We are trying Lori Lite's other cd's today!

We have Indigo Ocean Dreams and my kids have liked it but were wanting something different so I thought I couldn't go wrong with Indigo Dreams. I was wrong. Luckily my kids had fallen asleep before the 28 min dreams soundtrack began. My husband and I were on our way to bed when we heard this deep breathing and both got the willies. We promptly turned it off and won't be listening to that track again, nor will I let my kids hear it. It's creepy!!! Also, my kids weren't too impressed with the stories on the CD. Get Ocean Dreams instead.
