I’m a huge fan of Sting and The Police. Normally, any jazz reinterpretations are pretty uninteresting and don’t even come close to the creativity represented by the originals. This album, however, is such a fresh outlook on my favorite songs that it is transcendence. I don’t know of anyone other than TSB who could take these songs, own it completely, and still retain the magic of the original tracks. You can listen to these songs casually or, like any other great jazz album, it can demand your full attention. Either way, it’s an incredible project. I hope that they do more albums like this.
