Mason has once again proven himself as one of our great songwriters. Gets under your skin in a good way and can happily live in your player for a long time. This album doesn't disappoint and the production is creative and inspired.

Overall the musical talent is great, but the way they recorded it sounds like they were in a cave. The sound quality subtracts from the overall experience. Most of the songs sound so washed out and too much reverb/treble. I love mason, have all of his albums, seen him live several times, but I could have passed on this album, much like the the crap the guy from modest mouse previously had his hand in with Mason. The producers need to leave Mason to do what he does best.
  • Love Mason, but...

Huge MJ fan, but I am miffed with his use of all the electric guitar, as his best music is always in my opinion the bare bones stuff. Still happy to get more of his music. Would love an "acoustic" album.
  • Future King

Future King is a winner of a song. I first heard it on the Filmspotting podcast and looked for where I could buy it.

...keep on doing it. This new album is really great- you would not believe how long the wait felt! I preordered the CD with the 3 signed/dated photos. I loved Arma after about the 3rd listen- you were right to lead the album with it. Heaven, it's also a good one, but I think my wife took to it more than me. Two Dollar Man- my wife and I forgot to listen to it before the album dropped, but it's got great energy- reminds us of Black Snake Moan. My first favorite from hearing the album straight through- Everglades is just fun. Fun to hear, fun to pick out notes on the guitar. Future King and Painted Answers have a nice feel and sound, reminded me of a solo Tom Petty. Dude, Mason...it fits right in there...it accentuates your canon...it fits right in there. Thanks for having the drive to get behind the wheel again. A Wild Dark Metal Knight
