This is truly a landmark disco and dance album. Pure perfection!
  • Well before Lady Gaga...there was Róisín Murphy.

This album is a fantastic representation of electronic pop/dance. An extremely underrated and under appreciated album, Overpowered doesn't really have any competition, at least not at the time of its release. It far exceeded other electronic albums at e time, and was largely ignored. Unrightfully so. Lady Gaga fans should take note, this is another artist that was wearing styles and singing certain styles well before Miss G became such an icon.
  • Killer grooves to make you move.

Crisp electronics, perfect production, and Roísín Murphy’s powerful vocals combine in an album without a single dud. Every track stands on its own, with emotion and a modern funk and jazz fusion and great sound sculpture. Standouts for me, though, are You Know Me Better, Overpowered and Primitive. Recommended, folks. Buy it. Don’t think you’ll regret it.

I RARELY hear a song and want to buy the cd after only a couple of listens. I was in my favorite coffee shop in Atlanta and this music came on and I instantly went to iTunes. Great job Ms Murphy. #LongLiveNewMusic
